POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reports To: Friends of PEB Board of Directors FLSA Status: Salary Exempt
Stated Work Week: 3/4 time with potential to increase to full-time
OVERVIEW
FOPEB is seeking an individual with a passion for global mission and can see themselves dedicated to disadvantaged children’s education in Pakistan. The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for providing leadership, vision, and support in the development, implementation, establishment, and evaluation of all fundraising efforts, programs, general operations policies and procedures, and budgetary oversight. The ED shall serve as a spokesperson increasing awareness of the organization throughout the U.S. In partnership with the Board and its committees, the ED is expected to enable, enhance, and execute the ministry and mission of FOPEB by ensuring that proper staff, volunteer and financial resources, and operational / administrative controls and programs are in place for success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Fund Development

Serves as lead strategist for fund development and marketing, developing and managing a multiyear revenue and marketing plan to fund and ensure the organization's growth strategy.

Plays an active leadership role in all fund development efforts, including major gift solicitations from individuals, churches, corporations and foundations in partnership with our Mission Representative, and expanding our donor base and the planned giving program.
Marketing and Communications

Working with staff and contractors and using an annual marketing strategic plan and timeline, ensuring that the organization's social media and websites are current, newsletters are delivered to stakeholders and donors, media campaigns are occurring and face-to-face presentations are being given to churches and other targeted groups across the U.S.

Coordinates with PEB leadership and staff regarding fundraising priorities, and culturally sensitive and effective donor messaging.
Volunteer Management

Plans and leads 1-3 trips per year to PEB headquarters in Pakistan with groups of volunteers and donors. Interfaces with U.S. government agencies as part of the trip coordination process.

Cultivates and stewards new and existing relationships with key stakeholders, including major donors, and church leaders.

Supports the Board of Directors including meeting logistics; agenda creation; board development and recruitment; policymaking and oversight; strategic planning; preparation of monthly financial reports; implementation of goals and objectives; keeping the Board aware of activities and needs pertinent to the organization's operations, administration and development activities.
Staff Management

Manage hiring and employee development activities including setting clear expectations and providing regular performance feedback and coaching.

Ensure position descriptions are clear and current for all employees.

Manage any necessary termination of employment activity.

Maintain all required personnel documentation in a secured location.

Ensure that salaries and fees are properly managed.
Operations

Working with the Board and following the organization's strategic plan, develops and recommends policies and procedures, provides volunteer training and educational opportunities, monitors regulations for 501(c)3 requirements and ensures preparation and timely filing of Form 990 and state licensing or filings, and manages the various staff members and volunteers, provides committee heads with goals and objectives.

Ensures all utilized technical tools and databases are in sync across the organization. (FOPEB currently utilizes Quickbooks, Little Green Light (donor and contact database) Dropbox, Zoom, and Mail Chimp)
Financial Stewardship

While managing and working with the Bookkeeper and Treasurer, ensures accuracy of financial statements and proper internal controls, oversees creation and management of annual budget; practices cost containment; monitors reports, projections, revenue analysis, and the reconciliation of bank statements; approves and co-signs checks; manages contracts and service agreements; assures timely audits and tax returns; assembles information for external auditors; and sends approved grant wire transfers to PEB in Pakistan.

Ensures that all activities, recordkeeping, reporting, and fundraising initiatives are consistent with Board policy and comply with all applicable laws and ethical standards.

Manages facilitation of donations including donor receipting and the acknowledgement process.
Ancillary
-
Periodic national and international travel. Must possess valid passport.

Available to participate in occasional early morning calls (Pakistan) and evening calls (board work).
ACCOUNTABILITY
Employee is accountable to the Board of Directors through its Personnel Committee and will provide monthly activity reports to the Board of Directors.
EVALUATION
As FOPEB develops organizationally, this position description may evolve correspondingly. A performance evaluation will occur at least annually to ensure the incumbent is developing successfully and to identify opportunities for improvement.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
-
Bachelor’s degree minimum or relevant experience.
-
3-5+ years of success in a non-profit management position.
-
Experience in a global mission-related organization is desired.
-
Experience working with an actively engaged Board and volunteers.
-
Experience working with local churches and/or their governing bodies is desired.
-
Experience in fundraising.
-
Having previous nationwide and/or international exposure and involvement desired.

Experience with customer or donor relationship management databases (CRM/DRM) would be ideal. (FOPEB uses Little Green Light.)
